It’s already the fifth time the Plus Size Fashion Days in Hamburg have been taking place. “Welcome to wonderland” was the theme of the event in the Cruise Center in Hamburg.
Star guest Tess Holliday
Patron of the event was the 32 year old American Tess Holliday. She’s an internationally famous plus size model. Since many years she’s an active supporter of the body positivity movement and against body shaming. For her model jobs, the 1,62m power woman travels the world. She has been on many covers around the world and lately also in Germany as one of the models of H&Ms’ advertising campaigns.
Curvy supermodels on the Runway
Tess was not only a guest on the Plus Size Fashion Days. She also was on the catwalk as a model herself. Hanna Wilperath could be seen on the catwalk, as well. She won the german casting show Curvy Supermodel 2017 and is under contract at the model agency by Peyman Amin. Her two strongest competitors were present, too: Endurance and Julia. Both have been competing against Hanna in the final of the model casting show.
On the runway the current collections of the labels and online shops Happy Size, Miamoda, Sheego, Ulla Popken, Studio Untold, Otto, Luna Largo, Paprika, C&A, Mable etc were presented. Home game for the retail stores Vollkommen Braut, Curvy Shapes and Kurvenhaus, whose stores are resident in Hamburg.
Organizer of the Plus Size Fashion Days is Tanja Marfo. Her declared aim is to change the image of big women. She wants to show that beauty isn’t a matter of size.
